Claire Bown is a museum educator, facilitator, trainer, speaker and consultant with over 25 years’ experience in museum and heritage settings.
Born in the UK and now based in the Netherlands, she specialises in developing professional learning opportunities for museum educators and employees. Claire founded Thinking Museum in 2013 and also hosts The Art Engager podcast.
Over the past 13 years I have developed an approach with engagement at its core, for educators to easily use on guided experiences.
The Thinking Museum® Approach is a way to engage audiences with what they are looking at, who they’re with and where they are. It fosters meaningful connections: between educators and participants, amongst the participants themselves, and with the artwork or object being explored.

I work frequently with teams of museum, heritage and gallery educators all over the world. Every training course, workshop or online session is customised to suit the needs and requirements of your team, your collection and your audience.
Behind every great brand is a team of makers and doers. Let your visitors know who they are.

Every fortnight I share a small dose of curated inspiration - useful tips, recommendations and things that I love.
